I cannot count on a three-year period at Man Utd - the United boss

Ruben Amorim - here being consoled following May's European final loss - states he is happy by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's long-term backing but stressed that what lies ahead is unknown in the sport.

Manchester United head coach Amorim feels it's significant the investor openly discussed his extended perspective - but notes nothing is assured about the next day in soccer, much less three full years.

In an interview with a major publication recently, Sir Jim said it could take Amorim three seasons to make a significant impact at Old Trafford.

Coming in a period when Amorim's future has been facing examination after a prolonged run of disappointing results, the words contributed to reducing certain present tensions.

But, speaking before the hundredth encounter with historic adversaries Liverpool at their home ground, Amorim stressed that tomorrow is difficult to forecast in football.

"It's truly positive to receive that message but he communicates to me constantly, periodically with words following matches - but you know, I realize and the co-owner recognizes, that football is not like that," he said.

"The crucial element is the upcoming match. Regardless of investors, you cannot dictate the future in the sport."

Chief executive the club executive has acknowledged it has needed significantly extended periods for Amorim to adjust to the top division subsequent to his appointment from Sporting in November than any person expected.

Manchester United have achieved 10 victories in 34 Premier League matches during Amorim's tenure. They are yet to win back-to-back league wins and haven't finished a matchday this season above ninth position.

The concerning numbers are challenging confidence in the manager among the United fanbase entering a run of games their team has struggled during for the previous two campaigns.

United's boss commented he does not feel the instability within the organization at their training facility and is firm nothing can match the stress he places on the squad - and to some extent, he would choose Sir Jim to refrain from seeking to establish serenity because he worries the impact it could have on the team.

"It's not only a thing that people talk about, I experience it every day," he remarked. "It's certainly beneficial to receive it because it helps our fans to understand the leadership realize it needs a period.

"But at the same moment, I dislike it because it creates an impression that we have time to solve problems. I don't want that feeling in our club.

"The stress I place on the squad or on myself is significantly greater [versus outside influences]. In the sport, specifically at large organizations, you have to show yourself each weekend."
